My child is turning 13 soon, what happens then?
Once a child turns 13, they transition into the care of Zion Dominion’s youth and young adult ministry called Real Power Moves or RPM under the leadership of Youth Pastor Shai Fears. RPM services youth and young adults from the ages of 13-21. They gather in the youth sanctuary or meet off campus to have bible study, fellowship, worship together and learn about walking a Christ-like life.
Please reach out to Youth Pastor Shai Fears for more information.
-
What is the check-in/check-out process like?
When attending our Zion Dominion Amherst location, children our electronically checked in at the kiosk. There will be a staff member to greet and assist you with any questions upon your arrival.
We ask that children be escorted by a parent or guardian to be signed in when they arrive.
-
What will my child be taught?
Generation Next provides a Christian curriculum for children to learn from. The curriculum entails Bible stories, crafts, games, and other activities to aid in getting children to understand what it means to be a believer in Christ and what that looks like on a day-to-day basis.
On second Sundays, we partner with the Legacy Institute to teach an interactive lesson to children by age group.
On fourth Sundays, we implement a youth service in our children’s sanctuary, following morning lessons. Fourth Sunday Service is a youth led service with prayer leaders, a youth praise team, ushers and congregation.
-
Can I stay with my child during the service?
We encourage parents to trust their child in our care during services. However, if your child is particularly nervous or needs extra comfort, you are welcome to stay for a short time to ease the transition.
